About Patricia Davis
I am a board-certified psychologist who treats depression, anxiety, stress, chronic feelings of shame or inadequacy, relationship problems, repeating unhealthy patterns, and/or feeling “stuck in a rut.” I have a collaborative approach to therapy and see it as a partnership in which I can educate, support, encourage, and guide clients to improve their lives. There are no guarantees in counseling. However, patients that work with me report that they do get better and almost always achieve the goals they set forth at the beginning of therapy. I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and am board certified.
I have had extensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy techniques as well as advanced training in the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory.
My basic philosophy is that all humans are imperfect, but that we can grow and change in deep and profound ways given adequate support and guidance.
. I specialize in helping couples transform struggling relationships, and individuals eliminate anxiety and depression.
My Style of Therapy
I help people change their stories and the trajectories of their lives and relationships.
Change requires change.
Most of the time people come to see me they want change, but what they really want is the outside world to be different. For each of these people I wish I could change the world, so life could be easier to travel, free of relationship struggle, anxiety and depression. But I can’t, so I help them identify how they have accidentally created what they do not want to experience, and how to create what they do.
